The College of Southern Nevada (CSN), an institution within Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), invites applications for the position of accounts payable manager.

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Senior Associate Vice President / Controller, this position manages the day-to-day operation of all aspects of the accounts payable and travel accounting unit through policy and procedure implementation, recommendation, and compliance. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the overall goals and objectives of the unit are accomplished efficiently and effectively. The incumbent provides direct leadership to employees, including recruitment, training, supervision, coaching, and performance evaluation. The incumbent must register with the on-line taxpayer identification number (TIN) matching program offered by the IRS upon appointment. This position requires consistent and reliable attendance and some travel to other campuses/work sites. It requires ability to work evenings and weekends when needed. It is currently located at the North Las Vegas campus. Duties are included. but not limited to:



  • Managing the operation of Accounts Payable and Travel Accounting.
  • Ensuring compliance with NSHE Board of Regent's and CSN's policies and procedures.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for the office and resolve complex issues.
  • Representing CSN in NSHE system-wide working group on topics related to accounts payable and travel accounting.
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual IRS filings, e.g. 1099-Misc, 1042S, and 990.
  • Reviewing documents for hosting expenses.
  • Providing direct leadership to the employees of the office.
  • Developing practices that improve the overall efficiency of the accounts payable function.
  • Assisting month-end closing and year-end closing.
  • Assisting with annual audits and public record requests
  • Informing and advise the controller of pertinent issues
  • Working on special projects as assigned


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or closely related discipline from a regionally accredited higher education institution. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree (i.e. AA + 4 years of related professional experience).
  • 1 year of full-time supervisory experience
  • 4 years of full-time accounts payable experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively


Preferred Qualifications



  • 2 or more years of full-time supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience in non-for-profit accounting
  • Demonstrated working experience with Workday financial business processes applicable to accounts payable and travel accounting
  • 2 or more years of full-time general ledger accountant experience
  • Professional experience working in a higher education setting
  • Proven track record analyzing, researching, resolving issues, and/or improving business process
  • Proven leadership in developing staff competencies in relation to best-practices, technologies, compliance, and/or internal control in accounts payable and travel accounting function
  • Knowledge of relevant NSHE Board of Regents policies and procedures, with the ability to research, understand, and apply


Starting Salary Range

Administrative Faculty Grade D

$72,864.00 - $83,747.00
